Abstract: For improving the utilization rate of climate resource and resistance to natural disaster,the climatic conditions at different tobacco growing stages in Baihe,Shaanxi Province were analyzed,climate feasibility index (CFI) was estimated,and the major climatic factors causing the fluctuation of CFI in Baihe were found out. The results showed that Baihe's CFI was 83.9±9.7,it varied widely from year to year. The major negative factors affecting the climatic feasibility of Baihe were higher average daily temperature during maturing stage and seriously deficient rainfall during fast growing and maturing stages. Therefore,the measures such as early transplanting aided by film mulching,construction of watering facilities and timely harvesting ripe tobacco leaves should be adopted to deal with the impact of unfavorable climatic factors.
