Abstract:
In order to study the correlations between the delivery of hydrogen cyanide in mainstream smoke of cigarette made of single grade tobacco and the routine chemical components in the tobacco, the contents of total sugar, total nitrogen, reducing sugar, nicotine, potassium and chlorine in 15 kinds of flue-cured tobacco samples and the delivery of hydrogen cyanide in mainstream smoke were determined with continuous flow analyzer. The results showed that the delivery of hydrogen cyanide in mainstream cigarette smoke significantly positively correlated with the contents of total nitrogen, nicotine and chlorine, while significantly negatively correlated with the contents of total sugar, reducing sugar and potassium in tobacco leaves.
