Abstract:
For effectively reducing the deliveries of TSNAs in mainstream cigarette smoke,a series of tea polyphenols/
β-cyclodextrin (
β-CD) composites were synthesized. The synthetic technology was studied and the obtained composites were observed with a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).The effects of the composites synthesized under different conditions on reducing TSNAs in mainstream cigarette smoke were investigated. The results showed that:1) Microscopically, the synthesized teapolyphenol/
β-cyclodextrin composites were of quadrilateral flake in shape.2) When the ratio of M (
β-CD)/M (tea polyphenols) ranged from 1:0.25 to 1:1,increasing the proportion of tea polyphenols was helpful to the composite to reduce TSNAs in mainstream cigarette smoke.3) The optimal synthetic conditions were:mole ratio of
β-CD and tea polyphenols 1:1,volume ratio of water and ethanol 1:1,mixture stirred at 60℃ for 4 hours in nitrogen atmosphere away from light. The composite prepared under the above conditions possessed good adsorptive ability to TSNAs,when it was added into a cigarette filter at the rate of 10 mg/cig,the filter was capable of retaining NNN,NNK,NAT,and NAB by 57.72%,68.79%,55.26% and 42.42%,respectively.4) The prepared composites showed a certain selective reducing ability to NNK.
