Abstract:
To improve the performance of the test station and meet the technical requirements of new tobacco industrial standards, the draw resistance/pressure drop measurement unit in the test station was optimized as following: separating the air circuit for control from that for measurement in the automatic control system; instead of the complex electronic control units, valve-island technology was used to control air circuit centrally; adding automatic air cleaning system to prevent the dropped tobacco from influencing the air circuit; adjusting the length of suction pipe by analyzing the rule of draw resistance measurement affected by suction pipe. A comparative measurement of draw resistance was conducted with a set of standard filter rods of different ratings and the cigarettes of same brand and specifications. The result showed that after improvement, the
RSD. of draw resistance of standard filter rods decreased from 0.10%-0.47% to 0-0.04%, the relative error of measurement decreased from 0.53%-0.90% to 0-0.49%; and the
RSD. of draw resistance of cigarettes decreased from 4.287%-6.911% to 2.663%-4.024%. The improved test station improves the stability and accuracy of draw resistance measurement effectively.
