Determination of Menthol in Mentholated Cigarettes by Headspace Gas Chromatography

  • 摘要: 建立了一种测定薄荷型卷烟烟丝、滤嘴和纸张中薄荷醇的静态顶空气相色谱方法。样品经100℃、30 min顶空加热后,用HP-INNOWax色谱柱分离、氢火焰离子化检测器检测和内标法定量。结果表明:①该方法精密度好,线性范围广,检出限和定量限分别为3.3和11.1μg/mL,回收率为92.7%~103.4%,相对标准偏差(RSD)小于7%(n=6)。②该方法的测定结果与行业标准气相色谱法的结果一致。③具有简单、快速、准确、自动化及溶剂消耗少等优点。该方法适用于生产和储存期间薄荷型卷烟品质控制中对薄荷醇含量的快速大批量检测,并可用于储存期间小盒包装中薄荷醇的分布研究。

     

    Abstract: A static headspace gas chromatography (HS/GC) method was developed for determining the menthol in cut filler, filter and papers in a mentholated cigarette. The samples were heated at 100℃ for 30 minutes in a headspace sampler, then separated on a HP-INNOWax column followed by determining with a hydrogen flame ionization detector and quantifying by an internal standard method. The results showed that: 1) This method featured good accuracy and wide linear range with the limits of detection and quantification of 3.3 and 11.1 μg/mL, respectively. The recoveries were in the range of 92.7%-103.4% and the relative standard deviation was less than 7% (n=6). 2) The results obtained by the proposed method were consistent with those by tobacco industrial standard GC method. 3) This method was simple, rapid, accurate, able to be automated and less solvent consumption. It is suitable for testing menthol contents in batches of mentholated cigarettes for quality control during production and storage, as well as the research of menthol distribution in cigarette packet during storage.
