Abstract: The cigarette paper, tipping paper, filter wrap and filter are major factors affecting smoke components of cigarettes.Effects of all the cigarette materials on smoke components were investigated.The mathematic models for predicting filter ventilation and the deliveries of tar, nicotine and monoxide were developed, and the related factors in the models were also obtained by multicomponent nonlinear regress.The results showed that there existed good correlations between experimental data and predictive values.The models were helpful for the material selection in cigarette design.
