Abstract: Silo shifting was a cause of abrupt moisture content fluctuation of dried cut tobacco and the production of over-dried cut tobacco while starting or finishing a drying run in a cut tobacco dryer.The improvement was conducted as:changing the stoppers, optimizing operating logistic control program, increasing the traveling speed of the spreading conveyor, and etc.After improving, the time for silo shifting shortened from 135s to 56s, the amount of over-dried cut tobacco reduced from 14.7kg to 9.6kg per run, the percentage of dried cut tobacco with acceptable moisture content increased from 82.7%to 90.1%.
