Abstract: A mixture in the form of conglomerated emulsion prepared via the reaction of one or more kinds of metal salts with alkali metal hydroxide was added on cut tobacco or reconstituted tobacco, and the cigarettes made of the same were tested.The results indicated that the tar in the cigarette smoke was decreased by 3-6mg/cig.when the application rate of the additive ranged from 5% to 10% by weight, and no negative effect on smoking quality was perceived.
