Abstract: The causes of carton-missing in cigarette case were analyzed, several different methods of carton-missing detecting were compared, and the principle and characteristics of γ ray scanning carton-missing detector were introduced.The detector determined and rejected carton-missing cases by the variation of the radiation intensity of γ ray during scanning.The detector was not influenced by cigarette brands or packaging materials, and the detecting precision was higher.
