Abstract: The problem existed in the electromagnetic braking of main motor in packing machine Model 6000 was analyzed.The solution was that two frequency convertors were applied to drive main motor and stamping motor separately and the electromagnetic braking of main motor was changed into frequency conversion energy loss braking by applying GPD-2402 frequency convertor supplied by UK-based CD corporation and 24Ψ/1500kW brake resistance. After improvement, the main motor could not only satisfy processing requirements, but also be substituted by domestic motor, and the maintenance cost was reduced greatly.
