Abstract: The variety, properties, toxicity, detection methods and scavengers, including natural plant antioxidants, vitamins, amino acids, proteins, trace elements and minerals, of free radicals in gas phase and particulate matter of cigarette smoke were reviewed.The directions of future research on detection and liquidation of the free radicals in cigarette smoke were also outlined.
