Abstract: The manufacturing executive system (MES) was introduced. Based on the characteristics of tobacco industry, MES of tobacco enterprises contained mainly 9 function models, including data collection, real-time monitoring and warning, production scheduling, management of equipment maintenance, process quality control, management of basic data and files, workshop management, material tracing and statistic analysis. The key function modules and aim of construction were discussed. By use of MES, the production potential of advanced equipment could be developed to the full and the production behavior be optimized, the informationization management of enterprises be raised to a higher level.
