Abstract: In order to investigate the trichome density on leaves of different tobacco varieties in certain ecological environment, the trichome density on mature cutters of eight flue cured tobacco varieties was determined by electronic scanning microscope. The results showed that there were significant differences. The trichome density of K326 and Yunyan85 was higher (22.5trichomes/mm² and 22trichomes/mm², respectively). The higher the density was, the more trichome secretion and aromatic matter there would be. That evinced that these two varieties were more adaptable in the region.
