Abstract: The causes for higher linear density of tow stipulated in the new professional standard about diacetate cellulose cigarette tow were analyzed. The functions of and differences between the two national sampling standards,GB/T 2828 and GB/T 2829, cited in the new standard were explained. How to choose the sampling pattern from GB/T 2829 according to inspecting purposes was illustrated with some examples. The necessity and possibility of including the required "draw resistance of tow" in the standard were also discussed.
