Abstract: Filter wrinkles deteriorate cigarette appearance, therefore the distribution of filter rods' circumferences was analyzed in detail.In the improved evaluation method, the assessing weight of the filter rod circumference was increased, the rod circumference value and its standard deviation were strictly controlled, as a result its discrete degree and the fluctuation of its mean value were limited within a narrow range, the mean value was closer to the set target, and the rate of cigarette with wrinkled filter decreased from 0.770% to 0.214%.
