Abstract:
Effect of temperature on development, survival, reproduction, population parameter and population trend index of Spodoptera litura (Fabricius)were studied. The results showed that under temperature conditions in the range of 17 -32℃, the development rate changed as logistic curve with the increase of temperature. The regression equations of the rate of hatching, the survivals of larvae and, fecundity of adults and population trend indices with the temperature were established. The intrinsic capacity of increase (r
m=0.156 8)was the highest at 26℃, the next(r
m=0.135 2)was at 29℃. The most favorable temperature of development fell in the range from 23℃ to 26℃. The higher and lower temperatures were unfavorable conditions for the living of this insect. At 32℃, survival rates of each stage declined sharply.
