Abstract:
Twelve physical and chemical parameters, such as weight, circumference, dilution ratio, draw resistance, TPM, tar, nicotine, CO, puff number, and static burning rate, of the cigarettes made of cigarette papers with different natural permeability (40, 50, 60, 70, and 80 CU)were determined with the national standard methods. The correlative equations of the natural permeability of the cigarette papers with the parameters were obtained. The results showed that 1)there were hardly any effects of the natural permeability of cigarette paper on the weight, circumference, and draw resistance of cigarettes;2)The relationships of the natural permeability of cigarette paper with the dilution ratio of tobacco rod were linear;3)the puff number, TPM, tar, nicotine, and CO were decreased and static burning rate was increased with the increase of the natural permeability of cigarette papers, whereas the changes became not significantly when the natural permeability exceeded 70CU;4)The reduction of delivery of nicotine and CO was almost linear.
