Abstract: The influence of harvesting time on the smoking and appearance quality of lower stalk position flue-cured tobacco leaves was studied.The results showed that 1)the smoking quality of the lower stalk position leaves harvested at 0 to 10 days after topping was improved;2)being the quality would be somewhat lowered if harvested over 15 days after topping;3)the changes of appearance quality were similar to that of smoking quality.
