Abstract: The technical characteristics, structure, general principles and features of the conveying and reservoir systems applying to high speed cigarette making line, such as COMFLEX-C, ORBIS and CAPRICORN, were briefly described and analyzed. The COMFLEX-C system combined the tray filler and unloader into one unit and used a robot for transferring, which made tray filling and tray unloading smoother. The ORBIS was a direct linking conveying and reservoir system designed based on FIFO (first in first out)principle. The time of cigarettes staying between the makers and packers was reduced and the layout and cigarettes inlet and outlet of the system are optional. The CAPRICORN was designed on the same principle as ORBIS. However, its structure was simpler and its control system had higher versatility and compatibility. The application and developing trend of each system were also discussed.
