Abstract: Some factors which can affect the tar delivery of cigarette were quantitatively studied.When filtration efficiency of filter was increased, the smoke sensory characteristics could be kept, but the reduction of tar delivery yield was limited.When filter ventilation diluting technology was applied, the tar was significantly decreased, and the smoke sensory characteristics were obviously changed.If the expended tobacco and reconstituted tobacco were used in cigarette blend, the tar delivery was obviously decreased, but the flavour quality would be reduced.It is suggested that the comprehensive technology be applied to reduce the tar delivery of cigarettes.
