Abstract:
The relationships of smoking quality with physical and chemical parameters of flue-cured tobacco grown at Henan province were analyzed with the simple correlation and multiple regression methods. The results showed that 1)correlations between smoking quality of the flue-cured tobacco and its reducing sugar, petroleum ether extract, equilibrium moisture, and combustibility were positive, and smoking quality of the tobacco was correlated negatively with its total nitrogen, nicotine, cell wall substances and holocellulose significantly according to simple correlation, and 2)major factors influencing smoking quality of the tobacco were its total nitrogen, amino nitrogen, total volatile acids, petroleum ether extract, K, holocellulose, combustibility, and equilibrium moisture according multiple regression.
