Abstract: The history and development of headspace analysis technology were reviewed in this article. The experimental theories of static and dynamic headspace technology and its application in analysis of tobacco, flavorants, cigarette smoke and cigarette butts were introduced briefly. It is believed that the headspace technology would be improved and perfected and would be used broadly in tobacco industry.
