Abstract: DNS sugar determination method was established for soluble total sugar in tobacco. Compared with stadard method in tobacco industry -Bertrand method, DNS method is simpler, more rapid, more accurate and suitable for sugar mesurement in tobacco and has relative error within 5% and accuracy of 99.5%. An extraction procedure for sugar in tobacco was established, 20% alcohole solution as extractent and active carbon as decolorizer.
