Abstract: It was determined that length of the longest root produced from stem buried in soil was about 10cm at the seventh day after transplanting. Complementation of seedling with 10~15cm stem-length and deep transplanting stimulated significantly tobacco roots and leaves grow th and development, which increased fertilizer efficiency and drought tolerance, and reduced the possibility of plants blowing over in a windstorm.
