Abstract: This paper reported a synthetic technology of preparation of solandione through enainic reaction, condensation with methyl vinyl ketone, hydrolysis and wittg reaction starting from iso-amyl aldehyde. The synthetic technology was improved, and end product structure was confirmed by the IR, ¹H-NMR. The effects of solandione in tobacco was also studied. The application experiments show that solandione can enhance tobacco aroma, make tobacco smoke smooth and mild.
