Abstract:
To investigate the effects of regional environment on the aroma of flue-cured tobacco, the aroma note type and intensity of flue-cured tobacco leaves of robust, fresh and medium flavor styles collected from 8 typical tobacco growing areas were sensory evaluated at Kunming, Xiamen, Harbin and Lanzhou, where local environment differed greatly. The results showed that under different environmental conditions of the 4 cities, for the tobacco from the same area, the dominant aroma note type was relatively consistent, the aroma intensity was not significantly different, and the aroma style was stable in general; while several individual aroma note types and intensity varied greatly between regions.
