Abstract:
For effectively using the resource of flue-cured tobacco cultivars, the micro-morphological characteristics of leaf epidermis of cutters of 16 flue-cured tobacco cultivars were compared at mature stage. The results showed that the cells in upper and under epidermis of the 16 tobacco cultivars were all irregular in shape, the patterns of anticlinal wall of upper epidermis cell were mainly sinuate, while sinuolate epidermis cells were only observed in cultivars of Yunyan 97,NE297 and Yunyan 100.The patterns of anticlinal wall of under epidermis cell were sinuate. The stomatal apparatuses on upper epidermis were of anomocytic and anisocytic cell types, and those of under epidermis were mostly of anomocytic types.Statistical analysis showed that the stomatal density and stomatal index on upper and under epidermis were significantly different between cultivars.
