Abstract:
In order to investigate the effects of the mixture of processed stems of different shapes, granular stem treated with microwave, fibriform stem treated with cylinder drying, laminal stem treated with expanding tower, on cigarette quality, the physical indexes of blended cut tobacco of different blend proportions and cigarette, and the indexes of mainstream cigarette smoke were determined. The results showed that:Within a certain range, fibriform stem addition had the least effect on the physical indexes of blended cut tobacco and the manufacturing quality of cigarette, but might decrease tar delivery. The granular stem addition largely affected the filling power and proportion of short strands in blended cut tobacco, but would reduce the deliveries of tar and CO. While with the increase of laminal stem proportion, the proportion of long strands would increase first, and then decrease, however tar delivery would decrease first, and then increase, along with proportion of short strands and CO delivery increasing. Therefore, properly increasing the proportions of granular and fibriform stems could improve the comprehensive quality of cigarette to a certain extent.
