Abstract: N-(Diphenylmethylene)-3-(aminomethyl)pyridine was first synthesized from 3-(aminomethyl) pyridine and benzophenone with toluene as water-carrying agent, then anatabine was prepared from the synthesized compound. Anabasine,N-methylanatabine and N-methylanabasine were synthesized with anatabine as lead compound. The structures of the synthesized compounds were verified by ¹H NMR,FT-IR and MS spectra.
