Abstract: To overcome the shortcomings of current redrying technologies, such as larger standard deviation of moisture content, higher shrinkage rate of large strips, loss of tobacco aroma, etc., the strips redried by way of traditional apron conveyor redrying, direct apron conveyor redrying, cylinder drying and pneumatic drying were compared in terms of their physical indexes, chemical components and sensory quality. The results showed that:the strips redried by cylinder drier featured smaller standard deviation of moisture content, lower shrinkage rate of large strips, higher aroma component content and better tobacco aroma.
