Abstract: To validate the applicability of flavor style sensory evaluation method for Chinese-style cigarette in different areas, 10 cigarette samples were panel tested in 5 representative cities, Guangzhou, Xi’an, Harbin, Shanghai and Kunming. The fluctuation of sensory evaluation data and the expression of characteristic aroma note were studied with aroma profile analysis and two-factor analysis of variance. The results showed that there was no significant difference among the sensory evaluation results of the 10 samples in different cities and their flavor styles generally remained consistent; however, fluctuations were perceivable for some aroma notes at different areas, which were mainly reflected in the intensity of sensible aroma notes.
