Kinetic Studies on MOx-Catalyzed Tobacco Pyrolysis and Combustion for CO Reduction
-
摘要: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a metal oxide catalyst on CO reduction during pyrolysis and combustion of cut tobacco. The impact of the catalyst on tobacco pyrolysis and combustion processes was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. Kinetic parameters during these thermal processes were determined by a newly established calculation procedure, and the parameter values were compared with or without adding the catalyst. The results showed that the catalyst could effectively inhibit tobacco pyrolysis reaction while promote tobacco combustion reaction, and thus, contributing to the CO reduction in the cigarette smoke.Abstract: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a metal oxide catalyst on CO reduction during pyrolysis and combustion of cut tobacco.
