Application of a portable Fourier transform spectrometer in industrial tobacco grading
-
Abstract
In order to promote the detection efficiency of near-infrared method in industrial tobacco grading, a portable Fourier transform spectrometer was used to determine the main chemical components in tobacco leaves rapidly. The detection method of the instrument was established, the optimal spectral scanning mode was determined, and the quantitative analysis models for nicotine, total nitrogen and reducing sugar were developed. The results showed that: 1) The coefficients of determination (R2) of the models were 0.93, 0.91 and 0.89, the RMSECVs (Root mean square error of cross validations) were 0.14, 0.10 and 1.35, and the RMSEPs (Root mean square error of predictions) during model verification were 0.17, 0.14 and 1.84, respectively. 2) No sample preparation was required during the testing process, which realized rapid nondestructive testing, and the testing time was shortened to 16 s/time. This technology provides a support for promoting the application of portable near infrared spectrometer in tobacco production.
