Design and Simulation Analysis of Cutoff Device for Twin Filter Rods

  • In order to master the cutoff device for twin filter rods in filter rod maker,the structure of the device was analyzed.The relationships of filter plug length with the inclination angle of cutoff blade carrier and the rotational diameter of ledgers were derived and a mathematic model was developed,simulation analysis was conducted as well.The results showed that:1) The center-to-center distance between the twin filter rods,blade width and the diameter and rotary center location of blade carrier should be decided before designing.2) Filter plug length decided the inclination angle of blade carrier.3) Filter plug length and the inclination angle of blade carrier decided the rotational diameter of the ledgers.4) The inclination angles of blade carrier and the rotational diameter of ledgers corresponding to various filter plug lengths were calculated with Matlab software,the calculated results were close to the values provided by G.D Corporation.The theoretical analysis and calculation results of the mathematic model were proved to be correct and applicable to designing the cutoff device for twin filter rods.
