Method for predicting draw resistance and ventilation of cigarette based on linear network model

  • For predicting the relationship between draw resistance and ventilation of cigarette quickly, a linear network model was established according to the series or parallel relationship between cigarette components, then the draw resistance of cigarette, the ventilation rates of cigarette paper and filter, and the total ventilation rate of cigarette were calculated. The model was validated with the structural and physical parameters of 3R4F and slim cigarettes, the relative error between the predicted value and the detected value was calculated. It showed that the relative errors of draw resistance and total ventilation rate between the predicted values and detected values were less than 3%. The linear network model dispenses with either complicated numerical simulation or analytical calculation, quickly predicts the ventilation characteristics of cigarette and reveals the nonlinear relationships of ventilation characteristics with structural and physical parameters of cigarette accurately.
