Capsule planting device for slim filter rod based on cam-slider mechanism

  • To plant capsules into slim filter rods rapidly and accurately, a capsule planting device was designed on the basis of cam-slider mechanism. Through analyzing the movement of slider, cam profile was calculated, and the pressure angle was checked. A comparison test was carried out on a YL22 filter rod maker between cam-slider type and JK-4AE type capsule planting devices. The results showed that:1) Within the running speed of 60-100 m/min, the capsule missing rate of filter rods manufactured by cam-slider type device was ≤ 0.01‰, which was significantly lower than that by JK-4AE type device. 2) The maximum running speed of filter rod maker increased from 80 to 150 m/min, and the production efficiency was promoted. This method provides a technical support for improving the quality of capsuled slim filter rod.
