Sensitive detection of pesticide residue maleic hydrazide in tobacco using a fluorescent probe based on 2, 7-di(4-pyridyl)acridine

  • In order to rapidly and quantitatively detect pesticide residue maleic hydrazide (MH) in tobacco, a rapid detection method was established by using the fluorescence between 2, 7-di(4-pyridyl)acridine, a small bespoke organic molecule fluorescent probe and MH molecule. The results showed that: 1) The linearity was satisfactory in the range of 0.5-100.0 μmol/L of MH, and the limit of detection was 0.1 μmol/L (0.11 mg/kg). 2) This method was rapid with the fluorescence response time of 1 min. 3) The fluorescence intensity of the tested solution had less interference by other pesticides at 10-fold concentrations, so the selectivity was high. The spiked recoveries ranged from 91.0% to 106.7% with relative standard deviations of 1.4%-4.8%. This method is thus suitable for the rapid and quantitative determination of pesticide residue MH in tobacco.
