Optimization of the application of S400 tobacco reclaimer

  • To minimize the amount of foreign matters in tobacco reclaimed by S400 tobacco reclaimer, the reclaiming process was optimized. A three-layer vibration screen was added behind the feeder to separate recoverable cigarettes from foreign matters. A pneumatic separating and conveying system was added behind the two-stage gravity separator to separate and reject the heavier matters including dried glue pieces. Two sorters were added serially in front of the automatic case filling system to reject paper flakes and fibers from reclaimed tobacco. The modified tobacco reclaimer was tested with the rejected cigarettes of brand"Liqun"in Ningbo Cigarette Factory. The results indicated that: 1) No large paper pieces and other foreign matters were found in the reclaimed tobacco, and the content of small paper pieces in cut tobacco of 500 grams reduced from 18.40 pieces to 0.18 pieces, i.e. decreased by 99.02%. 2) The proportion of integral tobacco strand and moisture content of reclaimed tobacco were basically unchanged, and the quality of reclaimed tobacco was not affected. This technology provides a support for further improving tobacco reclaiming technology.
