Improvement of tipping paper position limiting system for filter cigarette maker GD121A

To reduce the adjustment time and material waste during the dimension change of tipping paper in a filter cigarette maker GD121A, the tipping paper position limiting system was modified. A splicing position limiting block with adjustable width and a three-level adjustable glue line position limiting roller were developed, thereby quick switch of tipping paper width could be done without machine part damage and tipping paper centerline adjustment. The system was tested on A, B and C cigarette brands with tipping paper widths of 76, 74 and 70 mm, respectively. The results showed that the developed system reduced the time for cigarette change from 71 min to 7 min and the weight of waste cigarettes from 4.87 kg to 0.63 kg. The improved system effectively enhances the adaptability of cigarette makers to multi-specification production.
