Application of FT-NIR in Primary Processing Line

  • The mathematic models for predicting the moisture content, total alkaloid, total sugar and total nitrogen in cut tobacco were developed with the NIR spectra of cut tobacco from an on-line FT-NIR spectrometer.The mean relative errors between the predicted values and values measured with conventional chemical methods were 1.1%, 1.9%, 2.1% and 1.7%, respectively, which indicated that the chemical components in cut tobacco in primary processing line could be fast measured and monitored by on-line FT-NIR spectrometer.
