Determination of Nonsoluble and Soluble Nitrogens in Tobacco with Flow Analyzer

  • Nonsoluble nitrogen (NSN) and soluble nitrogen (SN) in ten tobacco samples were determined with a flow analyzer. The results showed that: 1) the RSDs of NSN and SN were 0.15% and 0.22%, the recoveries were 100.4%-106.3% and 90.6%-100.3%, respectively; the limit of detection was 0.00006mg/mL; and 2) there was no significant difference between total nitrogen and the sum of NSN and SN. The method was suitable for rapid determination of NSN and SN in tobacco.
