Effects of Zeolite and Dolomite Application on Tobacco Growing Soil and Tobacco Leaf Quality
-
Abstract
The effects of powdered zeolite, dolomite application together with proper amount of chemical fertilizers in tobacco growing soil on tobacco leaf quality were studied by pot experiment. The results indicated that dolomite application was more beneficial to the growth of flue-cured tobacco than zeolite application, and the effects of dolomite application at a rate of 1g/kg air dried soil was better than that of 0.4g/kg air dried soil.Comparing with the contrast, the pH value of the experimented soil increased from 4.98 to 6.08;the chlorine content in flue-cured tobacco leaf decreased by 34%, the ratios of potassium to chlorine and reducing sugar to nicotine increased by 69.8% and 31.3%, respectively.
