Application of Air Velocity Monitor in Pneumatic Cut Tobacco Feeding System for Cigarette Maker

In order to stabilize the air velocity in pneumatic cut tobacco feeding system and facilitate system maintenance and operation, an air velocity monitor was installed on the cigarette maker. The structure and working principle of the monitor and the data communication between sub-station and station in the system realized by PROFIBUS-DP field bus were introduced. The measured data showed that by installing an air velocity monitor, the stability of pneumatic cut tobacco feeding system was improved, the fluctuation of air velocity was ≤ ±1m/s at the set velocity of 18m/s.
