Effects of Different Green Leaf Blends on Quality of Threshed Strips

  • In order to study the effect of different green leaf blends on the routine chemical component,structure and smoking quality of threshed strips,green leaves of different grades from Yunnan were blended and threshed.The results showed that:1) comparing with single grade tobacco thre-shing,the strips' quality stability and sensory quality improved to a certain extent,harmony of sugar/nicotine ratio obviously increased and the harmony and pleasantness of mouth feeling of smoke were somewhat improved,while the difference of characteristics related to stalk positions was narrowed;2) tobacco of neighboring grades,stalk positions,and close in quality and physical proce-ssing property were essentials for green leaf blend grouping.
