Parameter Optimization in Filter Rod Making

For stabilization the plug quality in filter rod making,the 4 key parameters,including pressure on stabilizer rolls,threaded rolls and air pressure in air jet and speed ratio between rolls were orthogonally tested at 3 levels on KDF-2 filter plug maker with acetate tow of 2.4Y/34000.The results showed that:1) individual weight,pressure drop of filter plug and their coefficients of variation were significantly affected by pressure on stabilizer rolls,and the preferable pressure was 0.07 MPa;2) filter plug hardness was significantly affected by pressure on threaded rolls,and the preferable pressure was 0.22 MPa;3) within the selected range,the effects of speed ratio between rolls and air pressure in air jet on filter plug quality was not significant,the recommended speed ratio was 1.15-1.35,and the jet pressure should be controlled to the satisfaction of tow conveying and ease of operating.
