Effects of Ca2+ in Symptom Masking of TMV Inoculated Tobacco Under High Temperature Stress

  • The results of Ca2+ and inhibitor treatments showed that after TMV inoculating, the activities of POD and SOD in tobacco leaf increased obviously by Ca2+ treatment and followed by high temperature stress, while those activities decreased significantly by Ca2+ specific chelator EGTA and CaM specific inhibitor CPZ treatment. There was no significant difference in TMV latent period between different treatments(Ca2+,EGTA,CPZ,and check);however, mosaic symptom was slightly masked by Ca2+ treatment and aggravated by treatments by EGTA and CPZ;it indicated that Ca2+ signal route probably involved in symptom masking under high temperature stress.
