Fumigation of Stored Tobacco Strips with Sulfuryl Fluoride

The fumigation of tobacco strips with sulfuryl fluoride and its influence on strips' quality were studied,and the residue of fluorine in strips was also detected.The results showed that:1) at sulfuryl fluoride concentration of 20 g/m³ and fumigation time of 120 hours,namely at a CT value(product of concentration and time) of 2400,the adults,larvas,pupas and eggs of Lasioderma serricorne were all killed;2) the influence of sulfuryl fluoride treatment on routine chemical components in strips was not obvious,total alkaloid content declined slightly;3) sulfuryl fluoride had no negative effect on strips' quality;4) the residue of fluorine in strips increased by 3.1 mg/kg after fumigation.
