Influence of Blending Methods on Cut Tobacco Blending Uniformity

  • In order to investigate the effect of different blending methods on cut tobacco blending uniformity and its physical characteristics,flue-cured tobacco and burley tobacco were blended by four blending methods at the proportion of 7:3,the contents of burley tobacco in blended tobacco samples were analyzed by the NIRS(Near Infrared Spectroscopy) prediction model established with blended samples of different burley proportions, and the blending uniformity, changes of structure and filling power of cut tobacco were compared and evaluated. The results showed that:1) within the tested range, all the components in cigarette were basically uniform no matter which blending method was used;2) preblending in cut tobacco silo was better than others;3) when taking no account of blending actions of processing steps after flavoring, the traditional method, wherein cut tobacco blending was carried out along with flavoring was the worst, and preblending in silo combined with gentle pneumatic blending was the best.
