Application of Chinese Herbal Extracts and Enzyme Agents to Tobacco Leaf

In order to improve the smoking quality of tobacco leaf,the effects of concretes of more than 20 kinds of Chinese herb,such as Flos Sophorae immaturus,day-lily,etc.,and 3 enzyme agents,including cellulase,papain,and neutral proteinase,on the chemical compositions and smoking quality of flue-cured tobacco leaf,B3F,were studied.The results showed that:1) the flavor quality,flavor concentration and taste of B3F were obviously improved by the addition of Flos Sophorae immaturus concrete,day-lily concrete or neutral proteinase;and 2) the contents of total sugar,total nitrogen,and nicotine in B3F treated with the mixture of 0.03% Flos Sophorae immaturus concrete,0.01% day-lily concrete,0.1% cellulase and 0.2% neutral proteinase and stored at room temperature for one month were close to their contents in untreated B3F aged for one year,three months and nine months,respectively.
