Determination of Arsenic and Lead in Flavoring by Microwave Digestion-GFAAS

  • Eight sample pretreatment methods and 5 matrix modifiers for the determination of arsenic and lead in flavoring by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry were investigated.The results showed that:1) Microwave digestion is the appropriate pretreatment method;2) Ammonium biphosphate-magnesium nitrate and palladium chloride-magnesium nitrate were the appropriate matrix modifiers;3) The recovery of arsenic and lead was from 95.0% to 104.0% with RSD of ≤5% and the limit of detection was 0.32 μg/L for arsenic and 0.13 μg/L for lead.The method is suitable for analysis of trace arsenic and lead in flavoring.
